Laser Engraving & Stippling

BP-Firearms offers NFA Compliance & precision personalization on every engraving project we do.

Precision Personalization & NFA Compliance

At BP-Firearms, we operate under a simple truth: when it comes to laser work, there is no “undo” button. Whether we are marking a registered SBR or etching a custom heirloom, the first pass must be flawless. To ensure that level of permanency, we have moved beyond the surface-level limitations of CO2 lasers and the mechanical risks of traditional rotary tools. By utilizing high-output Fiber Lasers, we achieve a surgical level of depth and clarity that bonds with the material itself, ensuring your markings remain crisp, legible, and professionally finished for the life of the firearm.

1. NFA / Form 1 Compliance

Legally required markings (Name, City, State) must meet ATF depth requirements of at least .003 inches.

  • Depth Guaranteed: We verify every engraving with digital depth gauges to ensure 100% legal compliance.

  • Material Versatility: Our fiber laser is tuned for precision on Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Polymer.

2. Performance Stippling

  • Enhanced Grip: Custom-mapped textures for polymer frames (Glock, Sig, etc.) that significantly improve handling in wet, cold, or high-stress environments.

  • Perfect Borders: We specialize in clean, recessed borders that provide a professional, integrated “factory-plus” look rather than a DIY appearance.

3. Graphic & Logo Branding

  • Deep-Etching: We provide high-resolution detailing for family crests, unit insignias, or custom branding. Unlike surface marks, our deep-etch process ensures the design won’t wear off or fade over time, even with heavy use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does your NFA engraving meet ATF legal standards?

Yes. We don’t just “etch” the surface. Per 27 CFR § 479.102, we use calibrated Fiber Lasers to ensure a minimum depth of $0.003$ inches. Every mark is verified with a digital depth gauge before it leaves the bench. Your SBR or Form 1 build will be 100% compliant and range-ready.

As long as the information is “conspicuous” (visible without disassembly), we can be discreet. Common professional locations include the inside lip of the magwell, the underside of the trigger guard, or the side of the receiver.

Our high-output Fiber Laser is specifically designed for:

  • Metals: Aluminum (Anodized or Raw), Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Tool Steel.

  • Polymers: Professional frame stippling and logo work on Glock, Sig Sauer, and Smith & Wesson frames.

  • You have two options:

    1. Stripped: Bring us just the component to be engraved (e.g., the bare lower receiver).

    2. Full Bench Service: Drop off the complete firearm. Our armorers will perform a professional detail strip, engrave the part, and provide a full reassembly with a safety function check for an additional bench fee.

  • NFA Compliance Marking: 48–72 Hour Turnaround.
  • Custom Graphics/Logos: 5–7 Business Days.
  • Note: Turnaround time is contingent on the pattern or design being approved by the customer.
